Listing is for a 1 oz dropper bottle of Spilanthes (toothache plant — Acmella oleracea) tincture — made with vodka (40%) 1:5 dried Spilanthes flower
Adult Dose: 5 drops to 1mL up to 3x a day (if taken, you can use more for a gurgle/mouthwash if you are spitting it out)
• for toothache: soak cotton ball and put on sore tooth
• for sore mouth or throat mix the tincture with some water and gargle or swish around mouth
• for digestion: add to beverage and drink before meal
🌿 Spilanthes - Acmella oleracea
Aka toothache plant or jambú to the people of its native Brazil. It has long been used by the indigenous folk of this region.
Easy to grow from seed and excellent in containers for small space gardeners. When the fresh flower is chewed, it creates a numbing feeling in the mouth — which is why it is called toothache plant.
Spilanthes extract is often used as a gurgle when throat is sore, a mouthwash to support gum health, and taken before meals for digestion support. It contains analgelsic and anesthetic properties of spilanthol as well as strong antimicrobial and antifungal properties. Spilanthes has a high antioxidant content with supports the body in protecting itself against cell damage and disease.
